Founded in 2006 Dutch Uncle is an award winning agency with offices in London, New York and Tokyo.

We represent and source talent for companies looking to commission creatives such as illustrators, designers, data visualisers & animators. 

We focus on management, nurturing the artists we represent by encouraging and supporting their personal development and projects. We help coordinate and produce fine art projects including exhibitions, products and publications.

Our team has expert knowledge and experience with image licensing, copyright and trademarks and handle the full commission production process from creative sign-off to the final delivery of project content.

With more than 8 years industry experience, Helen embarked on a career as an artists agent after graduating with a first class honors degree in Fine Art. Working with various creative management agencies, Helen has enjoyed a diverse and high-profile career.

Her experience has resulted in her working with some of the industry's leading talents for clients such as Jo Malone, IBM, Adidas, G.H.Mumm, Arsenal FC, Levis, Virgin, CocaCola, UBS, Facebook, Honda and Audi.

Helen founded the London & Tokyo offices of Dutch Uncle in 2006 and the New York office in 2010. She is responsible for the rise of many artist careers to date and continues to inspire passion in the artists she represents today.


Creative Director


Having worked in creative management for 5 years, a trip to Tokyo opened Dan's eyes to talent further afield and working alongside Helen established the Japanese sister of the agency. Dan spends his time consulting between the different DU offices.

Senior Agent


Joel studied Illustration at Camberwell UAL, where he became DU's first Intern before graduating in 2009. After another period with the company that summer he left London to join a rock band and see the world. Returning to London and working on freelance projects, Joel teamed back up with Dutch Uncle in 2011 and is now the keystone of the Dutch Uncle London team. He still plays bass and can be seen gigging on stage regularly around London.




Being on the team from day one, I am increasingly fascinated by the creative world and working with artists. Working for 20 years with building businesses from idea to a sustainable business model. Been through and survived the property boom of early 90’ies, the dot-com crash of 2002 and simply love the hard work required building an inspiring company. Great fan of Nobel prize winner Ronald Coase and the Chicago school, though educated on Copenhagen Business School






Miki decided to move to London after a chance meeting with Dan aboard the 242 night bus in Kingsland Road, 2005 - at the same time Dutch Uncle was launching. He then came to work in the London office eventually becoming head of the management team.

Returning to Tokyo in April 2013 Miki now runs his own agency, Agent Hamyak (agenthamyak.com) and heads up our Dutch Uncle Asia office.

Miki is our number one scout for talent in the Asian market and in 2014 published a new book of established and emerging Asian creative talent.  Miki's business connections in Japan, China, Singapore, Thailand, Korea and India give Dutch Uncle a truly global reach.



Shono has extensive knowledge and experience of the Asian market having founded Pict Agency 10 years ago and more recently Visiontrack.

Shono spends his time between the Osaka and Tokyo head office as well as linking up with creative networks in China.
